The PD-132 Single Channel Vehicle Loop Detector is an inductive vehicle detection device designed for automatic gates, parking barriers, access control systems and vehicle management applications.
The PD-132 works with an inductive loop coil installed in the ground. When a vehicle enters or stops over the loop, the detector identifies the change in loop inductance and activates its relay output. The relay signal can then be used by a compatible gate motor, parking barrier or access control system.
With a fast 10 ms reaction time, four adjustable sensitivity levels and selectable operating functions, the PD-132 provides reliable vehicle detection for residential, commercial and industrial automation systems.

How the PD-132 Loop Detector Works
An inductive loop cable is installed underneath the road surface and connected to the PD-132 detector.
The loop creates an electromagnetic detection field. When a vehicle moves over the loop, the metal mass of the vehicle changes the loop inductance. The PD-132 detects this change and switches its relay output.
The relay output can then provide a signal to a compatible parking barrier, automatic gate controller, access control system or other vehicle management equipment.
Single Channel Vehicle Detection
The PD-132 is a single-channel loop detector, meaning it is designed to monitor one inductive loop.
For applications requiring two independent loops, such as advanced entry/exit detection or directional vehicle control, a dual-channel loop detector should be considered.
PD-132 for Parking Barriers
The PD-132 can be integrated with automatic parking barrier systems for vehicle detection.
Depending on the barrier controller and wiring configuration, the loop detector relay can be used for vehicle presence detection, safety functions or automatic opening commands.
Automatic Barrier Opening
The PD-132 relay output can be connected to a compatible parking barrier's OPEN input to provide automatic vehicle-triggered opening.
When a vehicle enters the loop detection area, the PD-132 activates its relay. The dry-contact relay can then provide the required opening command to the barrier controller.
Barrier Safety Loop
The PD-132 can also be configured as a safety or presence detector underneath or near a parking barrier boom.
When a vehicle remains over the loop, the detector can provide a continuous presence signal to a compatible barrier controller to help prevent the boom from closing onto the vehicle.
PD-132 for Automatic Sliding Gates
The detector can be integrated with compatible automatic sliding gate control boards.
Its relay output can provide a vehicle detection signal for automatic opening, free-exit operation or other supported gate-control functions.
PD-132 for Swing Gates
Compatible swing gate systems can also use the PD-132 for vehicle detection where an inductive ground loop is appropriate.
The exact relay connection should be selected according to the gate control board's dedicated OPEN, safety or vehicle detector input.
Free Exit Vehicle Loop
The PD-132 is suitable for free-exit vehicle detection.
A loop can be installed on the inside of a property entrance. When an exiting vehicle drives over the loop, the detector can activate the connected gate or barrier OPEN input, allowing automatic exit without requiring a remote control or access card.
10 ms Fast Reaction Time
The PD-132 provides a fast reaction time of approximately 10 milliseconds, allowing the detector to respond quickly when a vehicle enters the loop detection area.
4-Level Adjustable Sensitivity
Four sensitivity levels allow the detector to be adjusted according to the loop size, installation conditions and type of vehicle being detected.
Correct sensitivity adjustment helps provide reliable vehicle detection while reducing unwanted detection or interference.
Automatic Sensitivity Boost
The Automatic Sensitivity Boost function increases detection sensitivity after a vehicle has been detected.
This can improve reliable presence detection for vehicles with higher ground clearance or vehicle combinations where maintaining detection may otherwise be difficult.
Selectable Presence Time
The PD-132 supports selectable vehicle presence holding modes.
Depending on configuration, the detection signal can remain active while the vehicle remains over the loop or operate with a limited presence period.
Loop Cable Installation
The PD-132 requires a correctly installed inductive loop cable in the road surface.
For reliable operation, the loop and lead-in wiring should be installed according to the detector requirements. The recommended total loop inductance is approximately 100–300 μH.
Twisted Lead-in Cable
The connection between the roadway loop and detector should use properly twisted lead-in wiring.
The PD-132 specification allows a maximum connection length of approximately 20 metres, with the wires twisted at least 20 times per metre.
