The SOMFY REFLEX Photocell With Reflector PMP12RGM6608 is a professional photoelectric safety sensor designed for automatic gates, garage doors and compatible industrial door automation systems.
Unlike conventional photocells that require separate transmitter and receiver units on opposite sides of the entrance, the SOMFY REFLEX system uses one photocell sensor and one reflector. The infrared beam travels from the sensor to the reflector and returns to the sensor.

SOMFY 12 Metre Reflective Photocell
The SOMFY REFLEX PMP12 provides obstacle detection across entrances up to approximately 12 metres under suitable operating conditions.
Its long detection distance makes it particularly useful for wide sliding gates, commercial entrances, industrial doors and other automation installations where a conventional short-range photocell may not be suitable.
Single Photocell & Reflector Technology
The SOMFY REFLEX uses a reflective detection system consisting of one powered photocell and one reflector.
The photocell sends a beam toward the reflector. The reflector returns the beam to the photocell. If a vehicle, person or other obstacle interrupts the beam, the sensor changes its relay output and the connected automation controller responds according to its programmed safety logic.
Easy Single-Side Wiring
One major advantage of a reflector photocell is simplified wiring. Only the photocell sensor requires electrical wiring, while the opposite side of the entrance uses a passive reflector.
This can simplify installations where running electrical cable to both sides of a driveway or gate opening is difficult.
