The NICE EPM Photocell Sensors are original NICE infrared safety devices designed for automatic gates, garage doors and compatible access automation systems. Supplied as a transmitter and receiver pair, the EPM photocells create an infrared safety beam across the entrance to detect vehicles, people and other obstacles during automatic gate operation.
The NICE EPM provides an operating range of up to 15 metres and operates from a 24V AC/DC power supply. Unlike the NICE EPMB BlueBUS version, the standard EPM uses a conventional relay output, making it suitable for compatible gate control boards with standard photocell safety inputs.
With automatic synchronization, IP44 protection and a compact surface-mounted housing, the NICE EPM provides reliable safety protection for residential, commercial and industrial automatic gate installations.

NICE EPM Automatic Gate Photocell Sensors
The NICE EPM is a synchronized infrared photocell system developed to improve the safety of automatic gate and door installations.
One photocell acts as the infrared transmitter while the opposite photocell receives the beam. When a vehicle, person or object interrupts the infrared beam, the receiver sends a safety signal to the connected gate control unit.
Automatic Gate Obstacle Detection
The NICE EPM helps protect vehicles, pedestrians and property by detecting obstacles across the automatic gate entrance.
Depending on the control-board programming, interruption of the photocell beam can prevent the gate from closing, stop gate movement or cause the gate to reverse.
