The BEA LZR-FLATSCAN SW Swing Door Safety Sensor is an advanced laser-based presence sensor designed specifically for automatic swing doors. A single BEA LZR-FLATSCAN SW can cover the complete swing door leaf, including the hinge and pinch zone. The sensor generates 170 measurement points to accurately monitor the area around the moving door and detect pedestrians or objects that may be in its path.
Unlike conventional safety technologies that can be affected by flooring or surrounding objects, the FLATSCAN SW laser technology provides stable detection across different environments. The BEA LZR-FLATSCAN SW automatic swing door sensor monitors the moving door wing using high-resolution laser detection. Its 90° safety field provides coverage across the door leaf to detect pedestrians and objects positioned within the swing path.
When an object or person is detected, the sensor communicates with the compatible automatic door operator so the door can respond according to the configured safety settings.
Hinge & Pinch Zone Protection
One of the most important features of the LZR-FLATSCAN SW is its dedicated hinge-area protection. The sensor uses 100 measurement points across a 16° pinch-zone field to monitor this critical area.
With a typical minimum detectable object size of approximately 2cm at 4 metres in the pinch zone under the specified configuration, the sensor provides high-resolution detection designed to help protect hands and fingers around the hinge area.
Laser Time-of-Flight Technology
The LZR-FLATSCAN SW uses 905nm Class 1 laser Time-of-Flight technology to measure the surrounding area. Laser-based detection allows the sensor to operate reliably with many different flooring materials and nearby environmental features.
This makes the sensor suitable for installations with reflective flooring, carpets, slatted flooring and other challenging surfaces where conventional detection technologies may be more affected by the surroundings.
